This year's team is made up from a mixture of different area schools. Lucas Southern, a senior and Jeremy Davidson-McCloy a junior from Walla Walla High School, Dominic Deccio a senior from DeSales Catholic High School, Jeff Peterson a senior from Upper Columbia Academy, and Daylan Gibbard, a freshman at Walla Walla Community College. Daylan will be sharing the driving duties with Tony Sillmam from Waterloo, WI.

Tony has been a member of Spencer Darby's support crew for 3 years and will be joining us as an adult driver. This will be his first time on the road and so he is affectionately a Rookie driver. We are grateful for his support of our effort and willingness to leave his family for a short adventure across America. The four new high school members will alternate navigation duties for each leg of the rally.

Don Gibbard, a graduate of the School of Hard Knocks, will serve mulitple duties again this year as team advisor, web master, and car owner. Technical advice on the car, along with the explanation of the mechanics of rally racing, has been provided by Spencer Darby, a 6-time Great Racer from Wisconsin.

Listed below is a little information on each of our members.

Daylan Gibbard - Daylan is a freshman at Walla Walla Community College and the team leader, as well as being the youngest son of the team advisor, Don Gibbard. He is on the youth praise team at church. Daylan earned the rank of Eagle Scout in his Boy Scout troop in 2005. He is interested in music and shares his dad's love of old cars. Daylan received the Youth Restoration award from MAFCA in 2004 and is a recipient of the Model A Youth Scholarship Fund, Inc. in 2005. He loves driving his 1962 Pontiac Tempest convertible and the 1928 Phaeton. His current plan is to finish his AA Degree and then transfer to WSU to study Business Management.
Lucas Southern - Lucas (Luke) is a senior at Walla Walla High School and is finishing his requirements for Eagle Scout. During his school years he has been a member of the band and was also a member of the wrestling team. Luke plans to attend Eastern Washington University when he graduates and pursue a career in physical therapy.
Dominic Deccio - Dominic is a senior at DeSales Catholic High School in Walla Walla, WA. He enjoys golf and playing the piano. He is interested in classic cars and owns a 1964 Mercedes Sports car and a 1966 Ford Pickup. Dominic plans to open a music store in partnership with his piano teacher following graduation.
Jeremy Davidson-McCloy - Jeremy will be a junior at Walla Walla High School this fall. He has been elected Key Club Vice President and was recently installed. His chosen sports include dirt biking and soccer. Jeremy played on the high school JV team this year. In his leisure time he enjoys playing computer games. For 6 years he has earned money mowing lawns for family and friends. He has also worked for his grandparents on the family farm. Jeremy plans to attend college when he completes high school and study law.
Jeff Peterson - Jeff is a senior at Upper Columbia Academy. He enjoys rock climbing, rafting, back packing,extreme off roading, football, and hockey. He is interested in cars, sports, girls, and aeronautics. After graduation he plans to attend either Walla Walla College or Union College where he will focus on pre-med courses, majoring in either Biology or International Rescue and Relief.
